Ember nodded slightly at the phrase about her father. She hardly knew him, but they still had a connection. She just smirked in a thanking way and shrugged, “Yeah, it is,” she said, keeping her voice simple and easy. She didn’t want pity and hoped not to get it. She could take care of herself well enough. Shaking her head once again she just smiled, “but I’ll live,” she voiced, smirking once again.

Listening to what Trina had to say, waiting till she was completely done before answering. “Don’t worry about it,” she smiled, “Everyone is like that at times so I’m not one to judge,” she looked around her as if for inspiration before tackling the questions brought onto her. Was what she had considered normal, she highly doubted it. Everything that went on and how she spent her time.

“Well, I guess not. I was never quite normal,” she leaned back lazily in the chair, looking at the tall ceiling. “I would go home as late as possible, always hoping my mother would be asleep or just not sane enough to notice my return, and before I came home I would spend my time training,” she shrugged again. That wasn’t quite normal, was it? “I just threw myself into my work to forget about all my troubles,” she smiled and nodded.

OOC: If that was a sucky post, then all of mine must seem like trash to you. I am so sorry that I haven’t been able to respond to this topic in so long!

Trina smiled at Ember’s response, chuckling a little. “That’s good to hear. Many have said that it is much better to focus on the present, and not to dwell on the past or future.” She said. Trina gave a small nod after hearing what Ember had said next. “It is good to find someone who won’t judge. It’s surprising to me how many people that I have met that do judge others so quickly.”

“My life seems different then yours by an ocean.” Trina giggled. “I was always at home, always surrounded by people. You threw yourself into work, I tried to get out of it with any attempt possible.” She smiled, just now noticing the similarities and differences between their lives.

Ember nodded, tapping her foot under the table. She had never really thought too much about the future. What would come would come whether she would sit there and worry about it or not, it was simply pointless to worry. She nodded at the next point that came from Trina’s mouth. She leaned back against the chair, bringing the front legs off the floor.

“Yeah, I know what you mean there,” she played with a strand of hair before setting the chair down, “Most people I meet learn I’m a martial artist and think I’m going to punch them for no reason,” she looked down, “but it’s sad to say that most people judge,” she sighed and let her eyes back down to the book she had been reading before moving the dull orbs to the shelves.

A slight giggle came from Ember’s maw as she spoke about her life. Yes, they did seem very different, her life and Trina’s, but it was good to find someone different then one’s self. She nodded, “I couldn’t have lived like that. I’m not a huge fan of people,” she shrugged, “but most people are like you in a way: I haven’t met many people who don’t try to get out of work,” eyes rolled to the top of her almost in a longing way, “but if I complained or tried to get out of doing anything my trainer would give me something to complain about,” she raised her eyebrows and smirked inquisitively. She was lost for anything else to say, so just nodded and waited for a response.

OOC: My turn to take a while, sorry
